Weekly Round-Up August 12-18 2013 by Mark Burgess

There were plenty of PBs at Bromley Park Run - 9 from the 25 PWRs! Not setting a PB but the first PWR male home was Stuart Scott (18.25) while Helen Neocleous was the first PWR lady and did set a PB (22.13). Also setting PBs were James Macdonald, Huda Adnan Kurtulus, Rebecca Vanin, Dawn Godliman, Karen Seager, Jayne Jones, Wendi Walker and Janet Vincent.

We also had runners at Bexley (Jane Branch - who else), Bradford (Sally Haffenden) and Dulwich (Stephen Faulkner).

Sunday saw round 2 of the 2013/2014 GP series at Staplehurst, the Mid Kent 5 Miler. According to a local, Staplehurst has the oldest church door in Kent. Not quite sure why the rest of the church isn't as old?

Despite the early start (9am race start!) this was a very enjoyable race with plenty of PB potential. PWR had 36 runners there, by far the biggest turnout by any club and much appreciated by the organisers.

I'll let our new 'Statto' Natalie Compton bring you the official results (including Group 8 handicap adjustments), but by my reckoning the following won the groups: Simon Bryant (Gp 8 & first PWR male, 14th overall 30.20), Mike Reeves (Gp 7, 33.09), Andrew Breese (Gp 6, 34.05), Paula Dimond (Gp 5 & first PWR lady, 39.00), Tony Bevan (Gp 4, 38.48), Harvey Fletcher (Gp 3, 40.49), Sue Hanney (Gp 2, 45.41) and Donna Carroll (Gp 1, 60.35).

Well done all!
