Daniel Selman - Club Secretary
e-mail: secretary@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Daniel joined PWR in 2016. He takes part in most club races (although still doesn’t like the mud and wet of the KFL) and is infamous for starting slowly before working his way through the field. He has tried 7 times, but not yet succeeded, to run a sub 3 hour marathon.

Committee responsibilities:
Daniel is responsible for major club decisions & disciplinary matters. Legal & administration - Organise and set committee agenda- Administrate with sports affiliations - Provide support for captains and committee.

Other club roles: KCAA & EA administrator   |   General club contact
   |   Group leader

james wall - Treasurer
e-mail: treasurer@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Having started running in 2014 to take part in the post-race work socials, James joined PWR in 2017 and has since competed in events from 1 mile to a marathon. James joins in with most PWR activities, from the chilled out on the Tuesday night social run, to looking like he is moments away from deaths door during the fiercely competitive KFL and Club GP races.

Committee responsibilities:
Responsible for the club's major financial decisions, budgeting and reporting. Approves payments for club purchases, liaises with HM Revenue & Customs and presents the club's annual accounts at the annual general meeting.

Other club roles: Group Leader, Summer Fitness Trainer

RICHARD DUNSTAN - CLUB COACH
e-mail: coach@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
If there is a local race that Richard hasn't run, it is probably because it hasn't been organised yet!  Richard was also at the first ever PWR Tuesday night meet and has been returning every Tuesday since then.  Richard has run over 50 Marathons all over the world.  He became the PWR coaching secretary in 2008 and enjoys his role in helping members achieve their running aspirations.  He quotes "I hope to continue to play a part in making Petts Wood Runners one of the best running clubs in the country"

Committee responsibilities: Deal with all aspects of club coaching.

Other club roles:
Send weekly news mailshot   |   Summer fitness trainer   |   Group leader   |   Assistant PW 10k race director   |   Mob match organiser; and Kent London Athletics Network liaison

nat jacques - Women's Captain
e-mail: ladiescaptain@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Nat started running more seriously in 2015 when she worked through Couch to 5K, aiming to be able to safely get round a parkrun. Her first parkrun was also in 2015 where she fell in love with the atmosphere, the support and the joy of completing the run. Since joining Petts Wood Runners in 2017, the support and various group training sessions have been invaluable, helping Nat to progress and complete many races, up to Half Marathon distance in 2021. She loves seeing other Petts Wood members at races and parkruns and hopes to support lots of different teams of people at events as captain.

Committee responsibilities: Point of contact for events, Promote organise club teams, Register club teams

kevin howarth - Men's Captain
e-mail: menscaptain@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Kev joined PWR in January 2016. He didn't start running until he was 37 when his little sister challenged him to run the Fleet half marathon. She won. He has since run a sub 3hr marathon (she hasn't) and is the current Guinness World Record holder for the fastest marathon dribbling 2 basketballs. Kev loves doing canicross with his dog, Edie and particularly enjoys the muddy KFL series of races.

Committee responsibilities:
Point of contact for events, Promote and organise club teams, Register club teams

Other club roles: Group leader  |   Unofficial club photographer

Tim Springett - Health and Safety Officer
e-mail: safety@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Having hated running at school and given it up as soon as he could, Tim resumed in 2007 in order to keep fit for playing football. With his new found enthusiasm he entered the 2010 London Marathon, attended parkrun for the first time in 2011 and joined PWR at the beginning of 2013. He then hung up his football boots to concentrate on running. Tim is one of the run directors' team at Bromley parkrun and an England Athletics leader in running fitness.

Committee responsibilities:
For making vexatious teach-grandma-to-suck-eggs rules about everything, demanding risk assessments from all and sundry, spoiling everybody's enjoyment and being a right pain in the backside. So it comes pretty naturally.

Other club roles: Group leader

JASON MERCER - Race Director
e-mail: racedirector@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Jason has been a member of PWR since 2016, having been invited to join by a friend at Bromley parkrun. He has enjoyed (endured) running various race distances, preferring road to trail, managing to avoid head-turning results.

Having reached the lofty heights of being a gorilla at the 2018 Petts Wood 10k before being a cowboy hat-wearing Tail Walker in 2019, Jason has come forward to be our Race Director for this year's event. Fellow volunteers should make sure Jason writes things down when they present him with information....unless it's football trivia from the 1990s, he will not remember it.

Committee responsibilities:
Jason holds this role as a non-committee member, and is looking forward to putting on a great event with the help of the club (and Mrs M)

liz squires - Social Secretary
e-mail: social@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Liz joined PWR in February 2018,  when a change to homeworking meant she could get to the Tuesday night runs. Last year she started to take part in the KFL’s and Grand prix events and found that although she’s always near the back she loves the challenge and being part of a team (PWR).

She became a group leader in September 2021 and wants to encourage PWR runners from all groups to take part in the organised racing events as she really believes its the taking part that matters and not your finishing time.

Other club roles: - Group leader

Alexandra Robins - MEMBERSHIP Secretary
e-mail: membership@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Alex joined PWR in January 2018, having taken up running a year earlier and completing 43 parkruns in that time. She wanted to improve her running and so joined with that goal in mind.

She became a group leader in December 2019 and proudly wore club colours when taking part in 2020's Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon (earning a certificate from Guinness World Records for taking part in the biggest ever mass participation remote marathon!)

Alex loves everything that the club has to offer both socially and for improving running, and values the many opportunities that belonging to a running club brings.

Committee responsibilities: Manage membership subscriptions.

Other club roles:
Group leader

JULIE MEDHURST - MINUTES Secretary
e-mail: minutes@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Julie joined PWR in May 2015 and has progressed to a regular group 5 leader and group 6 runner. She loves to attend races and events especially when all the faster runners finish first and are there to cheer her at the end. PWR has definitely changed her life for the better.

Committee responsibilities: Minutes committee meetings and AGM.

Other club roles: Group leader

JASON HONE - ONLINE CONTENT OFFICER
e-mail: onlinecontent@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Jason joined PWR in September 2019. Because of PWR his fitness, stamina and all aspects of running has improved and also discovered he loves trail/cross-country running in the wet and mud! Jason is looking forward to running his first marathon in London 2023.

Club responsibilities:
Development of online strategy   |   Maintaining the club website   |   Ad-hoc club designs

Hannah Harrison - Liaison Officer
e-mail: liaison@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Hannah started the beginners course in the Winter of 2013 and quickly joined PWR. She enjoys running, chatting and laughing regularly on Tuesday nights in Group 3 or 4. Hannah completed the LIRF (Leadership in Running Fitness) course at the end of 2018 and now encourages and leads the Group 2 runners. Hannah has completed 2 half marathons and enjoys cheering on fellow runners whatever their speed.

Committee responsibilities:
Feedback views of all members to committee and ensure responses where required; General support/liaison point for all club members. Support for club captains in promotion of event participation across all members.

Other club roles: Group leader

Mike Reeves - Track coach

Picture
Although no longer on the committee, Mike Reeves is still at the track on most Thursday evenings coaching club members.
Mike is a founder member of PWR being one of the twelve to join in on the first night.  He first competed in athletics in 1975 for Bexley AC and after 25 years service to the club was made a life member in 2000. His PBs include a 1:12:56 Half Marathon and a 2:58:06 Marathon.  In 1984 Mike was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and was told he may never run again.  Mike achieved his first coaching badge in 1986. Mike was proud to be selected as a masseur for the 2012 London Olympics and worked in the Olympic Stadium with the athletics and the basketball arena with the Paralympians.
