SIMON BRIER - Treasurer
Simon joined PWR in 2018 when he returned to the UK after four years working and running in India. He was inspired to join PWR after running the PWR10K and thinking how well-organised and friendly the event and club is. Simon prefers 10km to Half distances, loves the KFLs and has run a Marathon (once, in London).

Alexandra Robins - MEMBERSHIP Secretary
e-mail: [email protected]
Alex joined PWR in January 2018, having taken up running a year earlier and completing 43 parkruns in that time. She wanted to improve her running and so joined with that goal in mind.
She became a group leader in December 2019 and proudly wore club colours when taking part in 2020's Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon (earning a certificate from Guinness World Records for taking part in the biggest ever mass participation remote marathon!)
Alex loves everything that the club has to offer both socially and for improving running, and values the many opportunities that belonging to a running club brings.

He has since run a sub 3hr marathon (she hasn't) and is the current Guinness World Record holder for the fastest marathon dribbling 2 basketballs. liz squires - Social Secretary
Liz joined PWR in February 2018, when a change to homeworking meant she could get to the Tuesday night runs. Last year she started to take part in the KFL’s and Grand prix events and found that although she’s always near the back she loves the challenge and being part of a team (PWR).
She became a group leader in September 2021 and wants to encourage PWR runners from all groups to take part in the organised racing events as she really believes its the taking part that matters and not your finishing time.
Committee responsibilities: Arranging all social events for members
Other club roles: - Group leader

DAVID GROOM - Health and Safety Officer
Dave joined PWR in 2015 after a 20 year break from running. Dave enjoys running distances up to half marathon, although somewhat restricted in recent years due to ongoing knee injuries.
Dave previously ran for Cambridge Harriers between 1979 and 1994. During this time he ran for England Schoolboys at cross country and had pbs of 32.30 for 10K, 1 hour 14 mins for half marathon and 2 hours 49 mins for the marathon.
Committee responsibilities:
For making vexatious teach-grandma-to-suck-eggs rules about everything, demanding risk assessments from all and sundry, spoiling everybody's enjoyment and being a right pain in the backside.
Other club roles: Welfare Officer

JASON MERCER - Race Director
e-mail: [email protected]
Jason has been a member of PWR since 2016, having been invited to join by a friend at Bromley parkrun. He has enjoyed (endured) running various race distances, preferring road to trail, managing to avoid head-turning results.
Having reached the lofty heights of being a gorilla at the 2018 Petts Wood 10k before being a cowboy hat-wearing Tail Walker in 2019, Jason came forward to be our Race Director for the 2022 event, which was such a triumph that he has decided to do it again in 2023! Fellow volunteers should make sure Jason writes things down when they present him with information....unless it's football trivia from the 1990s, he will not remember it.
Committee responsibilities:
Jason holds this role as a non-committee member, and is looking forward to putting on another great event with the help of the club (and Mrs M)

GAVIN MaCkAY - kENT fITNESS lEAGUE tEAM mANAGER
Gavin likes nothing better than being covered in mud and cheering on his PWR buddies at a cross country race. As KFL manager, Gavin co-ordinates with the race organisers, PWR team captains, collects race entries from members, puts up the club gazebo and flag, provides lifts to members to get to events, arranges a location for the post run social and any other job going! He is also a pretty good runner as well!
Gavin's enthusiasm for all things KFL has marked a significant upturn in PWR's recent performances in the league, having come top of the combined league in 2018/19, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 under his management.
