On review of last weekend's running activities, along with the usual parkrun attendance, PWR's were to be seen at the Beachy Head Marathon, Great South Run, Stort 30 & Wimbledon Common 10k

This was the last weekend to run your fastest parkrun as part of the Grand Prix competition for October. This resulted in some parkrun tourism for those seeking a faster course. Grand Prix standings for this month will be updated by Natalie shortly. There were PBs for Clare Fisher, Mark Burgess, Karen Barritt and Richard Laing.

Saturday also saw 4 club members participate in the Beachy Head Marathon, this very tough course (check out the hill profile on their website) and all survived the hills- well done all.

Sunday I ventured to Wimbledon Common for a 10k run by RunThrough.co.uk - very well organised low key event and would recommend their other events. Free post race fruit, lucozade and sports massage, with tea and coffee and homemade cakes available at a small charge. Brilliant off road run. Can happily report I ran then entire 10k and made it to the end unbroken. Yay!

Sunday was also the day of the Great South Run, a 10 mile run starting from Portsmouth. Reports suggested that the last few miles were just a bit windy- well done to the 7 of you who took part.

Our resident ultrarunner Jeremy Smallwood took on the challenge of the Stort 30 mile race as the sweeper, helping along and motivating those runners at the back of this pack on this lovely sounding route. Well done Jerry!
