A great turn out of hardy PWR's faced the rain, sleet and freezing muddy conditions at Canterbury in the final race of the 2017/18 season.
It was extra sweet as the PWR Ladies triumphed to secure first place following their medal position of 3rd place last season. The men finished in 3rd place ensuring they too were in the podium position which meant a combined 2nd place for the club. Hannah Roberts also secured 3rd place female in the individual standings. The result follows a season of hard work and dedication from our KFL runners Full results can be found here kfl.canterburyharriers.org/xc_result.php?id=8634

The draw will take place on Tues 7th Nov at the Bickley Manor Hotel after club run, at 21.15. The club run that evening will start and end from the Hotel. Entries for the ballot have closed and there are 50+ entrants for the 4 Club places and 6 Water Station places available. Those entered in the ballot are required to either attend or request someone to attend in their place. They will be responsible for ensuring their named ball goes into the bag. Those not entered into the club ballot are welcome to come along and watch the excitement unfold and celebrate/commiserate with fellow runners after the usual Tuesday night run. Further to the subject of a new kit supplier at our recent AGM, we have received a small number of samples from different suppliers which we would like members to trial.
Ideally we would like members who have had problems with the old kit to trial, wear and wash, and swap with someone else who has another piece of kit. Details of what we have is at the foot of this message. You will need to collect tomorrow night after the club run from Karen Barritt, or at Assembly League on Thursday from me. We will need feedback in 3-4 weeks. Please let me know if you would like to be a tester and whether or not you will be present tomorrow or Thursday. First come, first served. Orpington Road Runners had 85 runners and Bromley Vets 26 runners. PWR also retained their mob match trophy against ORR with their top 85 runners having a lower position score of 6074 compared to ORR which had 9674. Well done to all the other runners who helped push ORR's positions further down and therefore increased their score. It is a great race where every runner of all abilities are key to the results and this was shown in the great support of all the PWR's who attended and celebrated afterwards at the Bickley Manor Hotel. Thanks to Richard Dunstan for his great organisation, Sonia for the results, the captains teams with assisting with number distribution, the fabulous supportive marshals, Ann our tail runner and other volunteers who helped at the finish, on the water station and to set up and clear away.
