ABOUT
The yacht races are a series of handicapped races designed to bring everyone to teh finish at the same time that started in 2022 with just 1 event. It went to two races in 2023 and then 3 in 2024 and 2025 at which time PWR donated a returnable trophy for the winner of each year's series and with an individual trophy for the first three to keep.
Everyone who has entered will be allotted a handicap time based mainly upon their recent parkrun times published on the England Athletics website "Power of 10" or any other means if no recent record. Consideration will be given however, to a certain extent, if the fastest parkrun time is on an undulating course and/or off-road terrain as it is usually the case that the quickest times are seen at the local and fast Bromley, Dulwich or Sutcliffe Park Parkruns.
The person(s) allotted the slowest time will start the 5k first at 7pm and at one minutes set intervals thereafter reflecting the handicap allotted, then others will follow until those with the fastest recorded times go off last c. 20 minutes later.
