If you are a resident in the Bromley area, there is a good chance you would have seen 'The Running Man'. This gentleman can regualry be seen whatever the weather wearing only, shoes shorts and sunglasses. He has been running like this for over 25 years (not non-stop). He even has his own Facebook Fan Page with other 5000 likes!
Well, this local celebrity has kindly agreed to start our race on October 13th. The question is, will he be wearing a t-shirt? The only way to find out is to either register for the event (see the Petts Wood 10k page) or come along and support! Petts Wood Runners would like to thank The Purelake group for once again being the main sponsors of our 10k event. Their generosity ensures that we can raise as much money as possible for Harris Hospiscare. Established in 1992, The Purelake Group has over the last two decade's built a reputation of innovation in the projects it undertakes. Based in Bromley, Purelake operates mainly in the South East London and North West Kent catchment area. We primarily undertake brownfield residential development, but are increasingly involving ourselves in mixed use/tenure, commercial and office projects. More information about Purelake can be found here We are delighted to announce that Heathcliff & Krook Wine Bar have sponsored all of the trophies that will be awarded at this year's Petts Wood 10k. We would like to thank Colleen and Keith for their generosity.
There are still other sponsorship opportunities available. If you would like to be involved in one of the countries best 10k events (as voted by Runner's World readers) please contact Ray our publicity and communications officer publicity@pettswoodrunners.org The Petts Wood 10k is featured in an article on the News Shopper website

Saturday's weather turned out to be sunny and warm for the PWR 2013 "Kids Olympics" morning in Willett Rec.
Around 70 children between 4 and 11 with as many again of their Mums and Dads came along to join in the fun as the staff of the Bees Academy took them through a number of jumping, throwing, hopping and running games designed to improve their athletic ability and have fun in doing so. This was followed by presentation of certificates and chocolate medals to all the children who took part, before a keenly contested Mums' and Dads' egg & spoon race in front of their cheering sons and daughters brought matters to a climax. Thanks to all the PWR helpers on the day as well as the Bees Academy for making this second annual Kidz Olympics a success and we look forward to repeating it again next year. This coming Saturday, Petts Wood Runners and the Bees Academy will be hosting the Kidz Olympics at Willet Recreation Ground.
This event was a great success last year, so we are delighted to be able to hold it again this year. See the poster below for more information. Any questions please contact Richard Dunstan coach@pettswoodrunners.org |
