RACE REPORTS

Round 1: Canterbury 10 miler – 26.01.2025

The PWR Grand Prix season kicked off in style with the Canterbury 10 miler on January 26th with 84 PWRs (70 of which registered for the GP) taking on by far the longest event in this year’s series, the rest of the events ranging in distance between 5k and 7 miles.

A staggering 167 have entered this year’s GP  meaning that the number of groups has had to be expanded in number from 12 to 15. Also increased from last year is the number of rounds to 9, with 5 counting, so it should be a really keenly contested season with everyone in the hunt until late on.

Canterbury was also a round of the Kent Grand Prix and there were some fine performances with PBs galore.

Group 1 (11 registered competitors)
1 Adam Wilkinson (57:02), 2 Will Senbanjo (57:54), 3 Steve Camacho (61:34), 4 Silky Ng (62:45), 5 Simon Thornhill (63:04), 6 Oliver York (63:20), 7 Kev Howarth (65:20).

2021/22 Champion Adam Wilkinson only contested two rounds last year but got his 2025 campaign off to the best possible start with the win. Less than a minute behind was Will Senbanjo (setting a new MV40 club record)  who only took part in one event last year - let’s hope we see both of them at more rounds this time around. The 2024 champion Steve Camacho was 3rd, from Silky Ng who seems to have taken a step forward in performance. Simon Thornhill was 5th from Oliver York, contesting his first ever GP event, and men’s captain Kev Howarth.

Championship: 1 Adam Wilkinson (20 points), 2 Will Senbanjo (18), 3 Steve Camacho (16), 4 Silky Ng (15), 5 Simon Thornhill (14), 6 Oliver York (13), 7 Kev Howarth (12), 8= James Bevis, Connor Gates, Mark Philbrick & Mark Smith (0).

Group 2 (11 registered competitors)
1 Melody Kane (65:00), 2 Haki Bardhi (67:15), 3 Stephen Pond (67:20), 4 Emma Stevens (67:57), 5 Matthew Pond (69:58), 6 Kev Chadwick (74:00)

Melody Kane led the way in Group 2 - a position she would have had at the majority of last year’s rounds had Tom Medhurst not been around! Medhurst isn’t entered this year so expect to see Kane at or near the top of the leaderboard at the rounds she contests, particularly as at Canterbury she set a new senior and overall ladies’ club record for the distance.

Haki Bardhi showed that his automatic promotion as the 2024 Group 3 champion wasn’t a step too far by taking 2nd in his new group from Stephen Pond, Emma Stevens (Group 2 champion in both 21/22 and 22/23), Matthew Pond and Kev Chadwick who had started the race late and had to weave through from the back!

Championship: 1 Melody Kane (20 points), 2 Haki Bardhi (18), 3 Stephen Pond (16), 4 Emma Stevens (15), 5 Matthew Pond (14), 6 Kev Chadwick (13), 7= Simon Dahdi, Mark Griffin, Andy Robertson, Andy Tippet, James Wall (0).

Group 3 (11 registered competitors)
1 Krish Gurunathan (68:51), 2 John Kingscott (72:19), 3 Elly Phillips (72:24), 4 Steve Wilde (73:11), 5 Mark Franks (73:40).

Krish Gurunathan has showed his cards early with a dominant victory at Canterbury, over 3 minutes clear of 2022/23 Group 3 champion John Kingscott who just edged out Elly Phillips by 5 seconds. Phillips along with Group 2’s Melody Kane and Emma Stevens took the overall ladies team prize at this event. Steve Wilde and Mark Franks weren’t far back in 4th and 5th respectively.

Championship: 1 Krish Gurunathan (20 points), 2 John Kingscott (18), 3 Elly Phillips (16), 4 Steve Wilde (15), 5 Mark Franks (14), 6= Oliver Dean, Chris Lamb, Gemma Parkinson, Jane Walsh, Chloe Wilkinson, Steven Wynne (0).

Group 4 (13 registered competitors)
1 Jim Winbourne  (77:58), 2 Mike Reeves (78:22), 3 Andy Stubbs (78:27), 4 Kerrie Donohue (68:37), 5 Callum Biggins (78:43), 6 Ellen Ball (114:33).

Jim Winbourne was entered in the Grand Prix last year but didn’t take part in a single round. He’s at least gone one better this year and took the win from Mike Reeves who was also sparing in his outings last year but had taken the Eltham 5 miler win in Group 4. 2022/23 Group 6 champion Andy Stubbs was 3rd from Kerrie Donohue (winner of two rounds last year in Group 4) and Callum Biggins - the top five separated by less than a minute. Ellen Ball was some way back from the rest of the group accompanying dad Eric in Group 12.

Championship: 1 Jim Winbourne  (20 points), 2 Mike Reeves (18), 3 Andy Stubbs (16), 4 Kerrie Donohue (15), 5 Callum Biggins (14), 6 Ellen Ball (13), 7= Stuart Ball, Johnny Gill, David Groom, Carl Inman, Catherine Round, Guy Sims, Nick White (0).

Group 5 (10 registered competitors)
1 Agne Zavistanavice (84:39), 2 Tabitha Rogers (85:34), 3 Steve Burnett (85:43), 4 Stuart Isaacs (93:29).

The top three in Group 5 were separated by just over a minute with Agne Zavistanavice who had been quickest in Group 5 over the parkrun distance last year taking the victory from Tabitha Rogers who only joined the club towards the end of last year and 2021/22 Group 5 champ Steve Burnett in 3rd. Stuart Isaacs was well off what he is capable of and didn’t seem to want to be recognised as he ran with wife Tracey hidden behind his PWR snood.

Championship: 1 Agne Zavistanavice (20 points), 2 Tabitha Rogers (18), 3 Steve Burnett (16), 4 Stuart Isaacs (15), 5= Mark Burgess, Jamie Fernandes, Chloe Haffenden, Rachel Knowles, Lucy Tippet, Paul Whelan (0).

Group 6 (12 registered competitors)
1 Andy Hall (81:16), 2 Trevor Adams (82:17), 3 Rosalind Butterworth (83:11), 4 Edwina Cheng (83:40), 5 Paul Munday (87:35), 6 Iain Jameson (88:37).

2022/23 Group 7 champion Andy Hall is getting quicker by the day and took the Canterbury win and smashed his PB by 6 minutes. His nearest challenger was last year’s Group 5 series runner-up Trevor Adams ,with Rosalind Butterworth 3rd and Edwina Cheng 4th (winner of the only round she contested in last year’s Group 6 championship, the Hildenbrough 10k). Paul Munday was 5th from Iain Jameson 6th.

Championship: 1 Andy Hall (20 points), 2 Trevor Adams (18), 3 Rosalind Butterworth (16), 4 Edwina Cheng (15), 5 Paul Munday (14), 6 Iain Jameson (13), 7= Emma Chapman, Anthony Donohue, Liane Evans, Jason Hone, Paul Strachan, Adam Waterman (0).

Group 7 (12 registered competitors)
1 Simon Keyes (85:01), 2 Lucy Tang (86:09), 3 Micky Boyd (89:44), 4 Vassilis Sakizlis (90:51), 5 Nick Squires (92:43).

Group 7 was won by Simon Keyes from a posse of runners who were all up at the sharp end of  last year’s Grand Prix. 2024 Group 6 champion Lucy Tang was 2nd from Micky Boyd (winner of three rounds in Group 7), Group 6 runner-up Vassilis Sakizlis  and Group 7 champion Nick Squires.

Championship: 1 Simon Keyes (20 points), 2 Lucy Tang (18), 3 Micky Boyd (16), 4 Vassilis Sakizlis (15), 5 Nick Squires (14), 6= Denise Eva, Seaton Giles, Nigel Hewson, Ant Holland, Luke Pattison, David Welfare, Stephen Woodgate (0).

Group 8 (11 registered competitors)
1 Nathalie Juchau (87:09), 2 Ka Si Tung (87:24), 3 Jackie York (91:00), 4 Ed Bossert (96:32), 5 Viral Tanna (96:43).

Ladies Captain Nat Juchau led the way from Ka Si Tung who had taken the race win at last year’s Group 6 season finale at Bedgebury. Jackie York in 3rd was comfortably clear of Ed Bossert and Viral Tanna who were evenly matched.

Championship: 1 Nathalie Juchau (20 points), 2 Ka Si Tung (18), 3 Jackie York (16), 4 Ed Bossert (15), 5 Viral Tanna (14), 6= David Horsfield, Amelia Isaacs, Hannah Lloyd, Felicity Newman, Alan Niblock, Robert White (0).

Group 9 (11 registered competitors)
1 Louis Strover (91:38), 2 Damian Parker (101:00).

Just the two Group 9s made their way to Canterbury and it was Louis Strover who got the better of last season’s Group 7 runner-up Damian Parker - one of only 4 runners last year to contest every round.

Championship: 1 Louis Strover (20 points), 2 Damian Parker (18), 3= Richard Bodie, Adele Bollan, Matt Bradshaw, Dean Chapman, Steven Dong, Maxine Horsfield, Jennie Keetch, David Thomas, Andrew Vadron (0).

Group 10 (13 registered competitors)
1 Jennifer Kelly (92:29), 2 Sally Callaghan (93:19), 3 Hilary Morton (93:25), 4 Tracey Isaacs (93:30), 5 Emma Horan (94:57), 6 Jim Kirkland (101:29).

After sitting out last year’s championship, 2022/23 Group 8 champion Jennifer Kelly was back to winning ways at Canterbury, taking the victory from Sally Callaghan, 2021/22 Group 7 champ Hilary Morton, Tracey Isaacs and Emma Horan. Jim Kirkland won practically every Group 9 race he contested last year but brought up the rear on this occasion.

Championship: 1 Jennifer Kelly (20 points), 2 Sally Callaghan (18), 3 Hilary Morton (16), 4 Tracey Isaacs (15), 5 Emma Horan (14), 6 Jim Kirkland (13).

Group 11 (12 registered competitors)
1 Eleanor Pinkerton (102:48), 2 Sandra Goodwin (104:15), 3 Lou Stocks (105:30), 4 James Fisher (108:48).

Group 11’s victory was taken by Eleanor Pinkerton from Sandra Goodwion and James Fisher, who only got a place at the last minute when Group 4’s Catherine Round couldn’t make it.

Championship: 1 Eleanor Pinkerton (20 points), 2 Sandra Goodwin (18), 3 Lou Stocks (16), 4 James Fisher (15), 5= Jan Bodie, Richard Dunstan, Rachel Inman, Annabelle Marks, John Perks, Paul Pester, Olivia Senbanjo, David Smyth (0).

Group 12 (12 registered competitors)
1 Wendy Tung (104:55), 2 Chris Haydon (105:28), 3 Christina Springbett (105:48), 4 Rob Sampson (106:55), 5 Eric Nash (114:34).

The top three in Group 12 were separated by little more than a minute, with 2021/22 Group 10 champion Wendy Tung leading the way from Chris Haydon and Christina Springbett. Tung demolished the FV65 club record by 8 minutes! In 4th place was 2024’s 12 marathons in 12 months Rob Sampson with Eric Nash 5th.

Championship: 1 Wendy Tung (20 points), 2 Chris Haydon (18), 3 Christina Springbett (16), 4 Rob Sampson (15), 5 Eric Nash (14), 6= David Allison, Katie Garvey, Catherine Jones, Julie Medhurst, Perry Wilson, Laura Woollard, Philippa Wynne (0).

Group 14 (10 registered competitors)
1= Paula Gleeson & Sarah Davis (113:33), 3 Emma Bossert (114:56), 4 Liz Squires (120:33).

There wasn’t anything to choose between Paul Glesson and Sarah Davis as they ran together and clocked identical times to take 20 points apiece! Emma Bossert was 3rd with Liz Squires 4th.

Championship: 1= Paula Gleeson & Sarah Davis (20 points), 3 Emma Bossert (16), 4 Liz Squires (15), 5 Karen Bowden-Brown, Simon Gleeson, Corinne Hollamby, Kary Leggett, Kathy Strachan, Rachel Sutton (0).

Although Canterbury was at the end of January, we still haven’t had round 2 which is at Battersea Park on March 30th. Entries for this flat course in a lovely park near the Thames had closed but appear to have re-opened so if you haven’t entered yet, do it now! https://www.letsdothis.com/gb/checkout/ticket?eventId=200864. Make sure you enter the 10k, not the 5k or Half Marathon!

I recently did a Half Marathon around there which was 8.75 laps but it actually didn’t get boring. It will get a little bit confusing though knowing who your rivals are due to the three distances being raced at the same time so make sure you wear your club vest so you can easily be identified and also satisfy the championship rules!

Rounds 3 and 4 are the Members 10k on April 13th and the Darent Valley 10k on May 11th (enter at https://englandathletics.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/28714/home).

Round 2: battersea park 10k – 30.03.2025

Round 2 of this year’s Grand Prix was the opening round of this season’s Best Race Series’ commercial event at Battersea Park on March 30th. Three different distances - 5k, 10k and Half Marathon were being contested over an oval course around this picturesque park, with the GP event being 10k - 4 laps.

It definitely felt like a PWR takeover with approximately half of the 142 finishers being from our club, and it could have been even more with another 22 entered that I counted not making an appearance due to injury, mother’s day commitments etc. And it was quality as well as quantity with the overall win, all the male age-category wins, and a 1-2-3 in FV60 going our way!

Group 1 (11 registered competitors)
1 Connor Gates (35:22), 2 Simon Thornhill (36:08), 3 James Bevis (36:20), 4 Silky Ng (36:27), 5 Stephen Camacho (37:31), 6 Oliver York (38:15), 7 Mark Philbrick (39:10).

There were 5 PWRs in the top 10 at this event, with Connor Gates winning overall! Simon Thornhill was the fastest MV50 and was just off the podium in 4th overall, heading James Bevis and Silky Ng to make it 4 PWRs in the top six. Last year’s GP champion Steve Camacho was 5th from Silky Ng, Oliver York and Mark Philbrick.

Championship: 1 Simon Thornhill (32 points), 2=  Steve Camacho & Silky Ng (30), 4 Oliver York (26), 5= Adam Wilkinson & Connor Gates (20), 7 Will Senbanjo (18), 8 James Bevis (16), 9= Kev Howarth & Mark Philbrick (12), 11 Mark Smith (0).

Group 2 (11 registered competitors)
1 James Wall (38:05), 2 Kev Chadwick (38:26), 3 Melody Kane (40:27), 4 Stephen Pond (41:27), 5 Matthew Pond (43:58).

Four of the five Group 2s at Battersea had contested the Canterbury 10 miler championship opener, however it was the one making his first appearance that ended up taking the victory. James Wall took the win from Kev Chadwick (top MV40) who had been hampered at the season opener by arriving late. Canterbury winner Melody Kane was 3rd in this group and 3rd lady overall, from Stephen and Matthew Pond - with dad once again getting the upper hand over son.

Championship: 1 Melody Kane (36 points), 2 Kev Chadwick (32), 3 Stephen Pond (31), 4 Matthew Pond (27), 5 James Wall (20), 6 Haki Bardhi (18), 7 Emma Stevens (15), 8= Simon Dahdi, Mark Griffin, Andy Robertson, & Andy Tippet (0).

Group 3 (11 registered competitors)
1 John Kingscott (42:26), 2 Mark Franks (43:14), 3 Steven Wynne (44:48).

John Kingscott backed up his 2nd place at Canterbury with the win this time out, with Mark Franks also improving to take the runner-up spot ahead of last year’s Group 3 runner-up Steven Wynne making his first appearance.

Championship: 1 John Kingscott (38 points), 2 Mark Franks (32), 3 Krish Gurunathan (20), 4= Elly Phillips & Steven Wynne (16), 6 Steve Wilde (15), 7= Oliver Dean, Chris Lamb, Gemma Parkinson, Jane Walsh & Chloe Wilkinson (0).

Group 4 (13 registered competitors)
1 Johnny Gill (42:33).

Sadly, there was just the one Group 4 at this round due in part to some withdrawals through injury - such as Carl Inman with a hamstring issue from the PWR Milan trip and Mike Reeves falling off a ladder! However, nothing to take away from Johnny Gill who set a cracking time and was the quickest MV60 at the event.

Championship: 1= Jim Winbourne & Johnny Gill (20 points), 3= Mike Reeves & Andy Stubbs (18), 5 Kerrie Donohue (15), 6 Callum Biggins (14), 7 Ellen Ball (13), 8= Stuart Ball, David Groom, Carl Inman, Catherine Round, Guy Sims & Nick White (0).

Group 5 (10 registered competitors)
1 Chloe Haffenden (44:12), 2 Mark Burgess (49:13), 3 Agne Zavistanavice (53:03).

Canterbury winner Agne Zavistanavice was sensibly taking it easy at Battersea in her lead up to her Brighton marathon adventure the following weekend. Chloe Haffenden was the class of the small field by far, and secured the victory by 5 minutes from Mark Burgess with Zavistanavice 3rd.

Championship: 1 Agne Zavistanavice (36 points), 2 Chloe Haffenden (20), 3= Tabitha Rogers & Mark Burgess (18), 5 Steve Burnett (16), 6 Stuart Isaacs (15), 7= Jamie Fernandes, Rachel Knowles, Lucy Tippet & Paul Whelan (0).

Group 6 (12 registered competitors)
1 Andy Hall (46:58), 2 Paul Strachan (50:32), 3 Liane Evans (51:32), 4 Emma Chapman (51:46), 5 Paul Munday (58:40).

Andy Hall continues to set new PBs practically every week and he was well clear of the rest of the Group 5 field. Paul Strachan put in a good performance to finish 2nd, a minute clear of Liane Evans, with Emma Chapman close in 4th and Paul Munday, another contesting Brighton the next weekend, 5th.

Championship: 1 Andy Hall (40 points), 2 Paul Munday (28), 3= Trevor Adams & Paul Strachan (18), 5= Rosalind Butterworth & Liane Evans (16), 7= Edwina Cheng & Emma Chapman (15), 9 Iain Jameson (13), 10= Anthony Donohue, Jason Hone & Adam Waterman (0).

Group 7 (12 registered competitors)
1 Nick Squires (52:07), 2 Nigel Hewson (54:07).

Just the two in this group at Battersea, with last year’s Group7 champion Nick Squires taking the victory by two minutes over Nigel Hewson.

Championship: 1 Nick Squires (34 points), 2 Simon Keyes (20), 3= Lucy Tang & Nigel Hewson (18), 5 Micky Boyd (16), 6 Vassilis Sakizlis (15), 7= Denise Eva, Seaton Giles, Ant Holland, Luke Pattison, David Welfare & Stephen Woodgate (0).

Group 8 (11 registered competitors)
1 Ed Bossert (51:25), 2 Nat Juchau (51:43), 3 David Horsfield (52:41), 4 Viral Tanna (54:38).

4th over Canterbury’s 10 miles, Ed Bossert found another gear for this shorter distance and took the victory from the winner of the opener, Nat Juchau, in one of her last races before she has her knee replacement op at the beginning of May. David Horsfield was 3rd from Viral Tanna in 4th.

Championship: 1 Nathalie Juchau (38 points), 2 Eduan Bossert (35), 3 Viral Tanna (29), 4 Ka Si Tung (18), 5= Jackie York & David Horsfield (16), 7= Amelia Isaacs, Hannah Lloyd, Felicity Newman, Alan Niblock & Robert White (0).

Group 9 (11 registered competitors)
1 Maxine Horsfield (51:45), 2 Dean Chapman (55:10), 3 Richard Brodie (56:37), 4 Matt Bradshaw (58:43).

Group 9 was won by Maxine Horsfield who was clear of Dean Chapman, Richard Brodie and Matt Bradshaw.

Championship: 1= Louis Strover & Maxine Horsfield (20 points), 3= Damian Parker & Dean Chapman (18), 5 Richard Bodie (16), 6 Matt Bradshaw (15), 7= Adele Bollan, Steven Dong, Jennie Keetch, David Thomas & Andrew Vadron (0).

Group 10 (13 registered competitors)
1 Hilary Morton (52:47), 2 Jim Kirkland (54:27), 3 Joseph Mulhall (54:46), 4 Tara Dennehy (55:28), 5 Philippa Niven (55:29).

Hilary Morton took the Group 5 victory from last year’s Group 9 champion Jim Kirkland who had only been 6th at Canterbury but was back on form and the fastest MV70. Joseph Mulhall was close in 3rd, while just one second separated Tara Dennehy and Philippa Niven in 4th and 5th respectively.

Championship: 1 Hilary Morton (36 points), 2 Jim Kirkland (31), 3 Jennifer Kelly (20), 4 Sally Callaghan (18), 5 Joseph Mulhall (16), 6= Tracey Isaacs & Tara Dennehy (15), 8= Emma Horan & Philippa Niven (14), 10= Joseph Conlan, David Fordyce, Sarah Lees & Neil Sutton (0).

Group 11 (12 registered competitors)
1 Richard Dunstan (57:48), 2 Sandra Goodwin (58:12), 3 James Fisher (60:11), 4 Paul Pester (60:50), 5 Rachel Inman (61:54), 6 Olivia Senbanjo (62:40), 7 Jan Bodie (65:03), 8 John Perks (65:09).

Group 11 had the joint largest entry with an excellent 8 of the 12 registered competitors taking part. Richard Dunstan took the win from Sandra Goodwin who had also placed 2nd at the previous round and was the fastest FV60. James Fisher took 3rd to add to his 4th at Canterbury, while Paul Pester led home Rachel Inman, Olivia Senbanjo, Jan Bodie and John Perks.

Championship: 1 Sandra Goodwin (36 points), 2 James Fisher (31), 3= Eleanor Pinkerton & Richard Dunstan (20), 5 Lou Stocks (16), 6 Paul Pester (15), 7 Rachel Inman (14), 8 Olivia Senbanjo (13), 9 Jan Bodie (12), 10 John Perks (11), 11= Annabelle Marks & David Smyth (0).

Group 12 (12 registered competitors)
1 Rob Sampson (58:17), 2 Katie Garvey (60:54), 3 Christina Springbett (60:55), 4 Julie Medhurst (61:22), 5 Chris Haydon (62:28).

Marathon man Rob Sampson took the Group 12 win, while Katie Garvey and Christina Springbett were just a second apart in 2nd and 3rd. Julie Medhurst was 4th from Chris Haydon in 5th.

Championship: 1 Rob Sampson (36 points), 2 Christina Springbett (34), 3 Chris Haydon (29), 4 Wendy Tung (20), 5 Katie Garvey (18), 6 Julie Medhurst (15), 7 Eric Nash (14), 8= David Allison, Catherine Jones, Perry Wilson, Laura Woollard & Philippa Wynne (0).

Group 13 (12 registered competitors)
1 Sonia Lowing (59:33), 2 Biljana Petrushevska (60:34), 3 Holly Hutson (67:06).

As the injured Julia Reynders cheered her fellow Group 13s on, it was Sonia Lowing who took the win by a minute from Biljana Petrushevska. Holly Hutson was 3rd.

Championship: 1= Jenny Waterman & Sonia Lowing (20 points), 3= Julia Reynders, Gill Rhodes & Biljana Petruchevska (18), 6= Lyttleton Barrett & Holly Hutson (16), 8= Gill Boyd, Barbara Carr, Clare Evans, Jo Ferres & Pherenice Worsey-Buck (0).

Group 14 (10 registered competitors)
1 Paula Gleeson (59:34), 2 Karen Bowden-Brown (62:27), 3 Emma Bossert (65:13), 4 Sarah Davis (66:14), 5 Kathy Strachan (69:01), 6 Kary Leggett (69:56), 7 Liz Squires (74:24), 8 Simon Gleeson (77:48).

Like Group 11, Group 14 had 8 entries at Battersea with just two others not racing. Having finished with identical times at the opening round, Paula Gleeson wasn’t going to share this time around and took the win by almost 3 minutes from Karen Bowden-Brown. Round 4: DARENT VALLEY 10k – 11.05.2025

Round 4 of this year’s PWR Grand Prix was the picturesque but challenging Darent Valley 10k on Sunday May 11th. 64 GP entrants contested this round, with another 10 or so non-GP PWRs also racing. There were some issues with the results which eventually got sorted in the days after the event, but there was certainly no disputing that we comfortably won the combined teams event with our first 7 men and 3 ladies all rewarded with a bottle of wine for their efforts.

Group 1 (11 registered competitors)
1 James Bevis 37:57, 2 Simon Thornhill 38:15, 3 Kev Howarth 39:05, 4 Oliver York 39:09, 5 Mark Philbrick 39:46.

There was a good turnout in the fastest group, with James Bevis recording his first win of the series after consecutive 3rd places at the previous two rounds. Just 18 seconds behind was Simon Thornhill in 2nd - where he also finished at the Battersea 10k. Men’s Captain Kev Howarth was back in action and took 3rd by 4 seconds from Oliver York, with Mark Philbrick not far behind in 5th.

Bevis’ win catapults him from 4th to the top of the championship table with Thornhill just two points behind. Leading coming into this round, Silky Ng drops to 3rd from York, with winner of the previous two rounds, Connor Gates, in 5th.
