Picture
Daniel joined PWR in 2016. He takes part in most club races (although still doesn’t like the mud and wet of the KFL) and is infamous for starting slowly before working his way through the field. He has tried 7 times, but not yet succeeded, to run a sub 3 hour marathon.

RICHARD DUNSTAN - CLUB COACH
e-mail: coach@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
If there is a local race that Richard hasn't run, it is probably because it hasn't been organised yet!  Richard was also at the first ever PWR Tuesday night meet and has been returning every Tuesday since then.  Richard has run over 50 Marathons all over the world.  He became the PWR coaching secretary in 2008 and enjoys his role in helping members achieve their running aspirations.  He quotes "I hope to continue to play a part in making Petts Wood Runners one of the best running clubs in the country"

Committee responsibilities:
Deal with all aspects of club coaching.

Other club roles:

Gillian Selman - Women's Captain
e-mail: ladiescaptain@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Gillian joined PWR in 2016 having previously run for local rivals Beckenham. She’s been running for about 15 years and has run 4 marathons. Can be found most Saturdays at Bromley parkrun, and loves running in the KFL and Assembly League. She’s passionate about running, and maintained a run streak of over 4 years until getting injured. Her family will confirm that she’s a bit of a fitness fanatic; she also plays tennis, loves swimming, and the gym is her second home. She’s very proud to be captain of such a fabulous club.

Committee responsibilities:
Point of contact for events, Promote organise club teams, Register club teams

Other club roles: Group leader

Stephen Pond - Men's Captain
e-mail: menscaptain@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Stephen joined PWR in October 2015 having just run his 6th marathon with the sole intention of trying to run quicker marathons.
He achieved this in his next few marathons and also recently ran his first sub 3 hour marathon at London 2017. This was a level he thought was unachievable.
He now wonders how much lower he can go with the help and love of everyone at PWR.

Committee responsibilities:
Point of contact for events, Promote and organise club teams, Register club teams

Other club roles: Group leader

Tim Springett - Health and Safety Officer
e-mail: safety@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Having hated running at school and given it up as soon as he could, Tim resumed in 2007 in order to keep fit for playing football. With his new found enthusiasm he entered the 2010 London Marathon, attended parkrun for the first time in 2011 and joined PWR at the beginning of 2013. He then hung up his football boots to concentrate on running. Tim is one of the run directors' team at Bromley parkrun and an England Athletics leader in running fitness.

Committee responsibilities:
For making vexatious teach-grandma-to-suck-eggs rules about everything, demanding risk assessments from all and sundry, spoiling everybody's enjoyment and being a right pain in the backside. So it comes pretty naturally.

Other club roles: Group leader

Natalie Compton - Race Director

Joanne Carey - Social Secretary
e-mail: social@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
The social scene is important to the club as it is one of the ways that we all to get to know each other better.  Whether it is on the coach to a race or at the 'PWR Race HQ Tea-Bar', there will always be time for socialising.  Joanne's role as Social Secretary is to co-ordinate our social expeditions. She is always looking for new ideas so please let her know if you want to arrange something for our members!

Joanne first joined PWR in Feb 2017 when she had just completed her very first 5k parkrun, but through the help and encouragement of the club she has just completed her second marathon!
Joanne can often be found running and chatting away to members throughout the club and can be found in a variety of Tuesday night groups, park-run or volunteering at many local and PWR events. She has a great passion for parkrun and has just recently become a run director for her local junior parkrun event!

Joanne loves the support offered from PWR and claims that the best thing about being one of the more “casual” or slower runners is hearing the stand out cheers from fellow club runners when you are coming down that home stretch!

Other club roles:
- Group leader.

WENDY LE COMBER - MEMBERSHIP Secretary
e-mail: membership@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Wendy joined PWR in 2016 after attending the Spring beginners course. A year later she completed the Leader in Running Fitness qualification and very much enjoys leading Group 3 round the streets and woods of Petts Wood. She has completed 5 half marathons since but is currently recovering from ankle surgery but continues to be a regular volunteer and avid GP race cheerleader! Really looking forward to getting back to running with all the lovely members of PWR and leading on a Tuesday evening.

Manage membership subscriptions.

Other club roles: Group leader

JULIE MEDHURST - MINUTES Secretary
e-mail: minutes@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Julie joined PWR in May 2015 and has progressed to a regular group 7 runner. She loves to attend races and events especially when all the faster runners finish first and are there to cheer her at the end. PWR has definitely changed her life for the better.

Other club roles: Group leader

JASON HONE - ONLINE CONTENT OFFICER
e-mail: onlinecontent@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture
Jason joined PWR in September 2019 and after going on most of the scheduled group runs has now completed his first 10mile and half marathon. Because of the PWR his fitness/stamina and all aspects of running has improved and also discovered he loves trail/cross-country running in the wet and mud! He hopes 2021 will bring a bit of normality back to all runners and is looking to book his first marathon!

Committee responsibilities:
Development of online strategy, maintaining the club website and ad-hoc club designs.

Hannah Harrison - Liaison Officer
e-mail: liaison@pettswoodrunners.org

Picture

She enjoys running, chatting and laughing regularly on Tuesday nights in Group 3 or 4. Hannah completed the LIRF (Leadership in Running Fitness) course at the end of 2018 and now encourages and leads the Group 2 runners. Hannah has completed 2 half marathons and enjoys cheering on fellow runners whatever their speed.

Mike is a founder member of PWR being one of the twelve to join in on the first night.  He first competed in athletics in 1975 for Bexley AC and after 25 years service to the club was made a life member in 2000.  His PBs include a 1:12:56 Half Marathon and a 2:58:06 Marathon.  In 1984 Mike was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and was told he may never run again.  Mike achieved his first coaching badge in 1986.  Mike was proud to be selected as a masseur for the 2012 London Olympics and worked in the Olympic Stadium with the athletics and the basketball arena with the Paralympians.
